You're listening to the Journal Party podcast where every week we get together for the ultimate journal jam sesh as we journal through life together as a community. My name's Alex Gallner and I'll be your host, so here's how it works. I'll give you a journal prompt in a groove and you just start writing. After a few minutes, you'll hear a little bell that sounds like this, and we'll move on to the next prompt. After a couple minutes, you'll hear that bell again. And we'll move on to the next prompt, and we'll just keep going on like that till we're finished. Feel free to write on whatever you like, or even just follow along in your car. If you finish before the bell, you can try to dig deeper and elaborate, or just chill out and enjoy the tunes. Don't overthink it. There's no wrong way to do this. So, welcome to the party. Journal Party. What's up, party people? It's your host, Alex Gellner, back with another episode of Journal Party. Feeling a little weird, to be honest. At the time of this recording, it's July 14th, 2024. And, well, if you've been paying attention or not living under a rock, you would know that this weekend Former President Trump was nearly assassinated. Now, I know that there are probably a lot of mixed feelings. on all ends of the spectrum about this. And the last thing I want to do is make this a political show. I think the only correct stance is that violence is not the answer. But that said, there's some things that I think we ought to reflect on, and not necessarily just related to what's gone on politically, but more so what to do when things just get away from you, seem to be hopeless, in a sense. Sometimes things feel a little bit hopeless. And there's a lot happening in the world right now, and it can definitely feel overwhelming. I feel a little overwhelmed, to be honest. And it seems like no matter what we do, we just keep facing new challenges. But, it's during these tough times that we really need to dig deep and keep going. So, here's Grab your favorite journal, find a comfy spot, and get ready to explore how persistence can transform your life. Today we're going to be jamming through five journal prompts to help you to tap into your inner strength and keep pushing forward, no matter what obstacles come your way. So open up that journal, and let's get this party started. Here comes prompt number one. Reflect on a challenge you've overcome. Think of a time when you faced a big challenge and didn't give up. Write about what kept you going, and how you felt once you got through it. Prop number two. Set a small, achievable goal. Pick a goal that you can achieve in the next week. Write down what you need to do to reach it, and why it matters to you. Prop number three. Think of someone who inspires you to persist. Who do you admire for their persistence? Write about how their example motivates you to keep going. Prompt number four. Write about your fears and how to face them. What's holding you back? Write about your fears and doubts and think of one way you can start to overcome them. Prompt number five. Visualize your future success. Imagine yourself in the future, having achieved your goal through persistence. Write about how you feel and what advice your future self would give you today. Alrighty party people, thank you for joining me on this journey of exploring the power of persistence. Remember that every step you take, no matter how small, brings you closer to your goals.
