You're listening to the Journal Party podcast where every week we get together for the ultimate journal jam session as we journal through life together as a community. My name's Alex Gallner, and I'll be your host. So, Here's how it works. I'll give you a journal prompt and a groove, and you just start writing. After a few minutes, you'll hear a little bell that sounds like this, and we'll move on to the next prompt. After a couple minutes, you'll hear that bell again, and we'll move on to the next prompt and we'll just keep going on like that until we're finished. Feel free to write on whatever you like or even just follow along in your car. If you finish before the bell, you can try to dig deeper and elaborate or just chill out and enjoy the tunes. Don't overthink it. There's no wrong way to do this. So welcome to the Party Journal. Party. What is Up Party people? Have you ever thought about what drives you? What motivates you to show up in the world the way that you do? You see, we all have values that guide our lives, but sometimes it can be a little bit difficult to figure out what those values are. I'm talking about core values here. Knowing your core values can be incredibly liberating and empowering. It can help you make more conscious decisions, set goals that truly matter to you, and take action in a way that reflects your true identity and your highest aspirations. Unlocking the power of your core values can open up a whole new world of possibility and leave you feeling alive and motivated, discovering what makes you uniquely you. So if that sounds good to you, then you're gonna love today's journal Jam Sesh. Get ready because here comes five journal prompts to help you figure out your core values. Let's get started. Here comes prompt number one. What do you believe in? What do you believe in? Just start writing. Get ready for prompt number two. What do you stand for? What do you stand for? Let's keep it going with prompt number three. What do you value most in life? What do you value most in your life? Okay. Here comes question number four. What is your definition of success? What is your definition of success? Here we go. Last prompt of the day. How do you want to be remembered? How do you want to be remembered? Nicely done. Core values are an important part of who we are, but sometimes it can be difficult to figure out. So taking the time to reflect on your beliefs and how you want to be remembered can give you a better understanding of what's truly important to you. And when you have that understanding, you'll operate in a way that's not only beneficial to you, but also everyone else around you. So thank you for doing this work. Here's another little trick for you if you wanna take this process even further. Asking yourself questions like, why or what does that do for me can be a great way to begin this process. These types of questions can help you to identify what matters most to you and provide clarity on decisions you may make in the future by constantly asking yourself why something is important. It allows you to gain greater insight into your true intentions and beliefs by really just digging deeper into what the actual core value is. For example, if you're deciding on whether or not to take a new job, you could ask yourself, what does this job do for me? Or, why do I want this job? And your immediate answer might be, well, it'll allow me to make more money. Pretty simple. So you keep going, keep digging. What will that do for me? Or why do I want more money? And the answer might be, well, so I can afford to take my family on vacation. Well, why? And your answer may be, well, because I enjoy spending quality time with my family. So what you really value isn't the job or the money. Or even the vacation. It's quality time with your family and sure, you may decide to take that job, but I'd also encourage you to try to engage with your core values in the here and now. So if you know what you really value as your family, you can get in touch with that and perhaps find ways to cater to that even before you decide to take that job. So hope that makes sense. Makes sense. Cool. And that's our show. Folks, thank you so much for journaling with us. Hit me up on Twitter and Instagram at journal party, omg.
