You're listening to the Journal Party podcast where every week we get together for the ultimate journal jam session as we journal through life together as a community. My name's Alex Gallner, and I'll be your host. So, Here's how it works. I'll give you a journal prompt and a groove, and you just start writing. After a few minutes, you'll hear a little bell that sounds like this, and we'll move on to the next prompt. After a couple minutes, you'll hear that bell again, and we'll move on to the next prompt and we'll just keep going on like that until we're finished. Feel free to write on whatever you like or even just follow along in your car. If you finish before the bell, you can try to dig deeper and elaborate or just chill out and enjoy the tunes. Don't overthink it. There's no wrong way to do this, so welcome to the party journal party. What's up? Pardon? People, you know, I know I put on a bit of a happy-go-lucky persona on these things and I mean, yeah, I'm a goofball, but like anybody else, I fall down, figuratively speaking. Of course, I, I have really good balance, but I digress. Before we get started today, I just wanted to give a huge shout out to my life partner. Girl, Alex. Yeah, her name's Alex too. It's, it's amazing to have someone there to pick you up when you're down and she really saved my butt yesterday and, well, I just wish everybody had someone like that in their life. That said, it's equally important to be able to pick yourself up or prevent yourself from falling in the first place. Talking about self-care. It's a hot topic these days, and it really should be self-care. It's an important part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. That means looking after your mental and emotional wellbeing and having some fun. So where does one even start? Well, for starters, taking the time to identify the things that make you feel happy, relaxed, and content is super important. In my opinion. Powerful change begins with awareness. That's why in today's journal jam session, we're gonna be working through five journal prompts to help you on your self-care journey. So grab your notebook or chill out if you're in your car. No accidents. Let's get started. Here comes prompt number one. What activities make me feel happiest and most content? What activities make me feel happiest and most content. Let's keep it going with prompt number two. How can I incorporate more self-care into my daily routine? How can I incorporate more self-care into my daily routine? Nice work. Here comes prompt number three. What small changes can I make to better look after myself? What small changes can I make to better look after myself? Get ready for prompt number four, who has been a source of inspiration for me in terms of self-care. Who has been a source of inspiration for me in terms of self care. Here comes your last prompt of the day. What actions can I take today to show myself love and kindness? What actions can I take today to show myself love and kindness? All right. Isn't it amazing how much you already know when it comes to taking care of yourself? I suppose it's actually following through. That's the tricky part. And so once you've identified those activities that you love, it's time to make them a regular part of your life. Establishing sustainable self-care habits will help you better manage stress and provide natural relief from burnout or despair. Definitely make sure to include activities that focus both on physical health, such as going for walks, biking, or running, as well as mental health, such as journaling your thoughts and feelings or indulging in creative hobbies like painting or writing poetry. And don't forget all the little things like making yourself a special snack or cuddling with your dog or cat at the end of a long day. Allowing yourself these moments can make a huge difference in how we react to life's daily comings and goings. Finally, remember that different people engage in self-care differently, which is totally okay, whether it's going out dancing with friends or snuggling up with your favorite book. Find something that works for you and commit to carving out special time for it. It's all about finding balance. If you haven't downloaded the new app yet, what are you even doing? It's available on iOS and Android and I made it totally free, so get in there by visiting our website. Journal party.com or search for it on whatever app store you use. And we will have a new guided journal program up on there shortly, hopefully by the release of this episode called Love Yourself. It's a free 30 day guided journaling program with journal prompts for self-care and other activities that I think you'll really enjoy. So definitely check that out. And that's it. That's our show folks. So thank you for journaling with us. Hit me up on Twitter and Instagram at journal party, omg. I would love to hear your thoughts and please. Send in your requests for different prompt themes. If you enjoy today's show, please leave a review and spread the word so that we can make this an even bigger party next week. And I hope you have a wonderful week this week. Party on.
