You're listening to the Journal Party podcast where every week we get together for the ultimate journal jam session as we journal through life together as a community. My name's Alex Gallner and I'll be your host. So, Here's how it works. I'll give you a journal prompt and a groove, and you just start writing. After a few minutes, you'll hear a little bell that sounds like this, and we'll move on to the next prompt. After a couple minutes, you'll hear that bell again, and we'll move on to the next prompt and we'll just keep going on like that until we're finished. Feel free to write on whatever you like or even just follow along in your car. If you finish before the bell, you can try to dig deeper and elaborate or just chill out and enjoy the tunes. Don't overthink it. There's no wrong way to do this, so welcome to the party journal party. What's up party people? I hope everyone's having a great holiday season or start thereof. I love the holidays, but boy am I a sucker for a deal. You'd think that someone with a growth marketing career under their belt. Would be somewhat immune to the tactics of other marketers, but no, I got rocked by Black Friday slash Cyber Monday. It'll be worth it though when everyone gets awesome presents from me. But I definitely need to tighten the purse strings a little bit. Or wallet, strings, whatever. I could have a purse. It's not a big deal. Fight of a purse. You shut up. Anyway. Today we're gonna be focusing our journals on frugality. If you're looking to save money and be a more frugal McDougal, then journaling can be a great way to shine a light on your finances and help you to save some money. So today we're gonna be journaling through five journal prompts to help you to save more money and be more frugal. Get ready for your first prompt. How much money did I save this week? How much money did I save this week? Just start. Ready. Okay. Moving along to prompt number two, what are some things that I could have done differently over the past week to save more money? What are some things that I could have done differently over the past week to save even more money? Here comes prompt number three. What are some ways that I waste money? What are some ways that I waste money? Let's keep it going with prompt number four. What is my long-term goal for my financial situation? What is my long-term goal for my financial situation? Here comes your last prompt of the day, prompt number five. Am I happy with the amount of money I'm saving? Why or why not? Am I happy with the amount of money I'm saving? Why or why not? Ooh. Saved by the bell. Nicely done. Party people. Hopefully you were able to experience this firsthand, but journaling can help you to save money in a few different ways. First, it can help you to become more aware of your spending habits. By taking the time to write down what you spend, you'll start to see patterns emerge in areas where you can cut back. Second, it can help you to stay focused on your long-term financial goals. It can be easy to get sidetracked, but if you have your goals written down somewhere that you can refer back to, it'll be easier to stay on track. Finally. Journaling can help you to celebrate your victories big and small, saving money can be hard work, so it's important to celebrate your successes along the way. If you'd like to keep journaling around your money habits, definitely check out our programs that we have up on journalparty.com.
