Today , as I sipped my morning coffee , I took a moment to really taste it , to feel the iciness of the cup in my hands . That's right , it was an iced coffee . And it got me thinking about how often we rush through our days without truly experiencing them . I've been thinking a lot about that lately . The counselor that I work with has me reading a bunch of Jon Kabat-Zinn Highly recommended , by the way and it's got me in that mindful mode .

So today we're going to be jamming through five journal prompts to explore mindful living , diving into the joys of present moment awareness . So go ahead , grab your journal and let's immerse ourselves in the beauty of the now . Here comes prompt number one Pause and take three deep breaths . Describe how your body feels with each breath . No-transcript . Look around and notice five things you can see . Write a sentence about each , describing them in detail . How do their appearances make you feel ? Thank you , thank you . So so . Prompt number three listen carefully and write down four sounds you can hear at this moment . What are they ? How do these sounds affect your current state of mind ? No-transcript . Describe their texture , temperature and your emotional response to the touch .
