What's up party people!? You're listening to the Journal Party podcast where every week we get together to jam out to some tasty grooves while we journal through guided journal prompts as a community. My name's Alex Gallner, and I'll be your host. This is getting to be a fun little routine for me, at least. I think the key for doing something like this is having a schedule and sticking to it. And that said, I've been noticing a couple of interesting habits creeping in and threatening to derail me. Funny how that works, isn't it? We all have habits. Some of them are good, like flossing in your teeth every night or taking a brisk walk after dinner, but some of them are bad, like spending too much time on social media or hitting the snooze button in the morning. And then there are the habits that we're not even aware of, like how often we check our phones or bite our nails. Journaling is a great way to take a closer look at our habits, both the conscious and unconscious ones. By taking the time to reflect on our daily behaviors, we can gain insights into why we do what we do. And armed with this knowledge, we can begin to make changes that will help us lead healthier, happier lives. Today we'll be jamming through five journal prompts to take a closer look at our habit. Here's how it works. I'll give you a journal prompt and a groove, and you just start writing. After a few minutes, you'll hear a little bell that sounds like this, and we'll move on to the next prompt. After a couple minutes, you'll hear the bell again, and we'll move on to the next prompt and we'll just keep going like that until we're finished. It's pretty simple. It's pretty fun, so let's get it done. All right. Get ready for prompt number one. What are three things you do every day without fail? What are three things you do every day without fail? Just start writing. Okay, get ready for prompt number two. What is one good habit you'd like to add to your daily routine? What is one good habit you'd like to add to your daily routine? Moving along to prompt number three, what is one bad habit you'd like to break? What is one bad habit you'd like to break? Okie dokey. Moving on to prompt number four, what triggers your bad habits? For example, boredom, stress, anxiety, etc. What triggers your bad habits? For example, boredom, stress, anxiety, et cetera. Just start writing. Okay. Last prompt of the day. Do you have any unconscious habits that you'd like to change? For example, nail biting, skin picking, hair twirling, et cetera. Do you have any unconscious habits that you'd like to change? For example, nail biting, skin picking, hair twirling, et cetera, Gross. And those are our prompts, folks, I hope you were able to take a closer look at what you have going on with your habits. Journaling. It's such a great way to get to know yourself better, and by examining your good and bad habits, as well as the triggers and underlying emotions that drive them, you can begin to make changes that will improve your health and wellbeing. One more thing I'll say is to be gentle with yourself. We all have room for improvement and it's perfectly okay to mess up from time to time. Just get back on track. Keep moving forward.
