What's up party people? You're listening to the Journal Party podcast where every week we get together for a little guided journaling jam sash. My name is Alex Goner and I'll be your host. So here's how it works. I'll give you a journal prompt and a groove, and you just start writing. After a few minutes, you'll hear a little bell that sounds like this, and we'll move on to the next prompt. After a couple minutes, you'll hear that bell again, and we'll move on to the next prompt and we'll just keep going on like that. Until we're finished, feel free to write 'em whatever you like. And if you finish before the bell, you can try to dig deeper and elaborate or just chill out and enjoy the tunes. Don't overthink it. There's no wrong way to do this. So welcome to the party journal party. Have you ever caught yourself scrolling through social media thinking, why is everyone else so far ahead? Why do they all have this nice stuff? Why are they going to cool places and doing cool things? And I'm just sitting here feeling jealous. You ever feel that way? Or maybe, maybe you're comparing your success to a friend. We're wondering why you're not where you should be by now. Yeah, I do it too. It's okay. We all do it. Maybe not all of us. I do it though, I'll admit it. The thing about comparison is that it tricks us into believing that there's a right timeline, like a correct timeline, a correct way to live, and that everyone else has it figured out except for us. But you know what? That's not true. Comparison disconnects us from our own path, and today we're gonna take that power back. That's right. Party people. Today we got five journal prompts designed to help you shift from comparison to clarity. So grab your journal, get cozy, and let's dig in. Here comes prompt. Number one. Think about a time when you compared yourself to someone else. What did you believe they had that you didn't, and how did that make you feel? Number two, what's one thing you're proud of that no one else can take credit for? How did it feel to accomplish that on your own terms? Prompt number three. Whose success tends to trigger your comparison the most? Why do you think that is? What might this reveal about something you want for yourself? Prop number four, write about what success looks like for you. Not society, not your family, not your friends, but for you. Prop number five, what would it feel like to celebrate someone else's success without it diminishing your own? How can you shift toward that mindset? All right party people. Nice work comparison can be pretty sneaky. It can make you feel like you're falling behind when really you're exactly where you need to be. Just consider that even as just a possibility for a second. Even if it doesn't fully ring true, just consider the possibility that right now you're exactly where you need to be. The truth is, no one else has the same story, gifts or path as you, and that's your strength, not a weakness. Now if you wanna keep working on this, I'd like to invite you to check out our app where you'll find more guided journaling sessions that can help you release on comparison. And we also have other programs as well if you're into that, which you probably are'cause you're journaling with us today. And hey, if this episode spoke to you, please leave us a review. Now, I mentioned this week, normally we do it every week, but uh, folks, I gotta let you know we're going on a brief hiatus because your boy is getting married. That's right. I'm getting married this month and I got a lot of wedding errands piling up, and then I got a honeymoon to do after that. Don't worry, I'll be back soon enough. But you know what, I gotta, I gotta set some, some boundaries. You know, we talk about that a lot on this show. I gotta, I gotta set some boundaries. Around this special time in my life so that I can be fully present, fully enjoying it. But you know, I'm not gonna be able to stay away from you all for too long. So we'll be back in a, in a, in a few weeks, I think. We'll, uh, we'll keep everybody posted on all of our social channels and things like that. But folks, from the bottom of my heart, I wanna thank you very much for journaling with me today, and if you've been journaling with us for a while. Thank you for being along on this ride with us. It's been an incredible journey for me personally and, uh, as I embark on this newest chapter in my life, I'm just so excited for what comes next. So, thank you once again for journaling with me today. Thank you for being part of this and, uh, as always, party on channel.
