Our sense of self is shaped by so many factors , from cultural backgrounds to our personal experiences , and today we're going to be jamming through five journal prompts to explore and understand the facets that make up our unique identities . You grab your journals , because here comes prompt number one . Let's start at the beginning . Think about your name . What does it mean ? Were you named after someone ? Or does your name have a cultural significance ? Write down the story of your name and how it connects to your identity and if you don't know , make something up . Alright , let's keep it moving with prompt number two . Based on the cultural traditions or practices that you grew up with , how have they influenced your sense of self ? A craft , or mai shi chan ? Maybe you music ? Getting through it ? Here comes problem number three . Think about a pivotal moment in your life that significantly shaped your identity . It could be a trip , an encounter or even a book you read .
