You're listening to the journal party podcast, where every week we get together for the ultimate journal jam sesh. As we journal through life together as a community, my name's Alex Galner, and I'll be your host. So here's how it works. I'll give you a journal prompt in a groove and you just start writing. After a few minutes, you'll hear a little bell. It sounds like this and we'll move on to the next prompt. After a couple minutes, you'll hear that bell again, and we'll move on to the next prompt and we'll just keep going on like that. So we're finished. Feel free to write on whatever you like, or even just follow along in your car. If you finish before the bell, you can try to dig deeper and elaborate, or just chill out and enjoy the tunes. Don't overthink it. There's no wrong way to do this, so, welcome to the party. Journal Party. What's up party people? Welcome back to another episode of Journal Party, where we get into all things reflection, creativity, and personal growth. It's your host, Alex Gellner, and today I got a little something special for you. I've been thinking a lot about the power of places. I just got back from this trip to Chicago. It was amazing, and it's got me thinking about where we've been, where we are, and where we want to go. Physical places, emotional spaces, and even the places that we create in our minds. So whether it's the memories of where we've been, the present moment of where we are, or the dreams of where we want to go, there's so much wisdom to explore. That's why today we're going to be jamming through five journal prompts that help us reflect on the places we've been, where we stand right now, and where our hearts are pulling us in the future. So grab your journal, your favorite pen, and let's get this party started. Here comes prompt number one. Think of a place you've been that holds a special significance in your life. Maybe it's a childhood home, a town you traveled to, or even a place that felt transformative. Write about why that place is important. How did it shape the person you are today? Was it the people? The energy? The energy? Or the experiences you had there that left an impact, what do you carry with you from that place into your present life? If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below. Um, Prompt number two. Let's shift gears and think about where you are now. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. Write about the place you find yourself in today. What's the energy around you? How do you feel about the space you're in? And how does it influence your mindset? This could be about your current environment, your relationships, your work, or just the general vibe of your life right now. Prompt number three. Now let's talk about comfort zones. Those places, whether real or imagined, where you go to feel safe. Is there a place that acts like a retreat for you when you need to recharge? Maybe it's a cozy corner in your home, a spot in nature, or even a mental escape. Write about this retreat and why it's your go to. What does it give you? What does it help you escape or heal from? Let us know in the comments! We all have places we dream of going. It could be a destination on your bucket list, or an aspirational version of your life that you want to create. Write about a place you've always wanted to go, either physically or emotionally. What draws you to this place? What do you imagine feeling or experiencing when you get there? Is it a place you've been chasing for a long time, or is it something that's calling you for the first time? Prompt number five. Now, for the final prompt, let's reflect on the journey itself. Between where you've been, and where you want to go, there's a journey. Often messy, Often magical. Write about what it feels like to be in that in between space. The transition between one place and another. What lessons are you learning in this process? How do you want to show up during this phase? And most importantly, how do you want to feel when you finally arrive? Alright party people, that wraps up our journey through places today. I hope you found some insight in reflecting on where you've been, where you are, and where you want to go. It's amazing how much clarity and perspective we can gain just by taking a moment to write it all down.
